Clocks

Yesterday, Ian and Julie kept talking about "putting the clocks back". Well, neither Gemma nor I had noticed that they'd taken them away but, when we woke up this morning, sure enough the clocks were back - by one hour! Yes, British Summer Time has come to an end here in England, and Greenwich Mean Time is with us for the next few months. Is it called Mean Time, I wonder, because there are fewer daylight hours for walkies?!!

Window sill

Gemma and I went to have haircuts today. When we got back, our wood-stained window sill, lovingly gauged with five years' worth of my paws and two years' of Gemma's, had been painted a fresh, glossy white! We used to go to the "canine beautician" at different times, meaning that one or other of us could keep an eye on our house.....so that's why we were sent away at the same time this time! We'll be on our guard next time - who knows, we might get back to find that our nice, comfy armchairs have been painted a fresh, glossy white as well!

More Cheese!

Ian and Julie ate some hot buttered crumpets tonight. On them, they melted some cheese - our cheese! If that wasn't bad enough, they accidently locked us out in the garden until they had finished eating our cheese! When at last we got back in, Ian denied everything!

Tea Time

Today, just like every day, Ian and Julie carefully measured out our evening meals. They gave me mine, but "forgot" to put Gemma's on the floor. She was very cross, running backwards and forwards between Ian, Julie and where the food should have been but wasn't! But Gemma just couldn't make them remember what they'd forgotten! Of course, they hadn't forgotten at all but, as Top Dog, my bowl always goes down first (then Gemma's) but, this time, I wanted to eat alone.

Cheese

Gemma and I love cheese! Today, Ian tried creeping into the kitchen to get himself some cheese and biscuits. He should have known there was no way of keeping that a secret from us! He sat at the table ignoring us. We sat a short distance away, occasionally moving closer so that it became more difficult for him to continue ignoring us. Eventually, we made eye contact, and that was that - game over! He made us do a few training tricks for our pieces of red leicester, but it was delicious!

Cat

Ian was talking today with a neighbour across the way. I was on guard duty at the window of our house when, to my indignation, I watched this cat creep up on Ian and totally ignore him - as only cats can do! I wagged my tail like mad, but Ian didn't hear me (human hearing isn't as good as that of a dog - I can hear an apple being thought about from the opposite end of the house!).
